Sign-ups for Missy This Fic 2017 are now open:

Sign-ups will remain open until 8pm GMT on Thursday, 10th August. (When is that in my time zone?)

To sign up for this fest, you must have written at least three remixable fics of at least 500 words each for your remixer to choose from. To count as "remixable" these three fics

• must be set in the same version of Doctor Who canon - for example, New Who, Old Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures, Class, ...
• must be posted publicly and must be easy to find for your remixer (have a link to a masterlist of your Doctor Who fic ready if you don't post your fic on AO3, please)
• must be complete (no works in progress)
• can't be crossovers or fusions with non-Doctor Who fandoms
• should stand on their own (one shots that form a series are fine, as long as they can be truly read and remixed on their own merit)
• should not be co-written with anyone, or previously written remixes of other people's work

Here you need to choose the canons that you have written the appropriate amount of eligible fic in and that your remixer will be matched to you on. So all Doctor Who universes you’ve written the required amount of eligible fic for that is not a WIP or crossover can be chosen from among the AO3 canonical tags in the fandom section.

Under "fandoms", please enter all Whovian fandoms you are remixable in.

Under "Link to my fic", please link to the place where your Doctor Who fic is accessible to your remixer.

Under "Details", please fill out the following information using this template (you can copy it directly from the textbox below):

Safe Story: (here you can specify ONE story that you don’t want remixed - you can also specify that you have no safe story)

In addition, I'd like to just express my joy again that this is happening, even if I probably can't sign up at this point! I hope you get many sign-ups and have fun! I'll be following and eagerly looking forward to the results. :-)

Aww, thanks. It all depends on how quickly I watch! If I suddenly binge through S7 and find myself at S8 so I have more than S10 to go on her, who knows, I might! Though it might be helpful if I had more fics out that wouldn't be a headache to add Missy into. (Though Missy suddenly barging in on Jack and Nine flirting could be fun, I'm sure. Just odd. Okay, now I'm trying to figure out how it'd work out...)

And I suppose I could always make sure it's S10 era Missy that I write into it. A little complicated as she spends most of it in a vault, but...

Oh, I wouldn't consider that a complication at all. For one, we know she was out of the vault more than once, sometimes entirely unsupervised. And for the other, you could always have Missy survive s10 without regenerating, and make it post-s10 Missy ... :D

Oh, the possibilities... (Besides, Missy should survive S10 without regenerating. There needs to be more Missy. Not that her final scene wasn't awesome. But still. Especially with Thirteen on the way, Missy needs to be Not Gone.)

I mean, I could be persuaded if she's a woman in her next regeneration as well. But Missy would be so much better! I really have a hard time imagining anyone holding a candle to her.

Say, um, if I were to plan to participate, let me just check: I'll be eligible if I have three fics fulfilling the requirements in any one Whovian fandom, for example New Who or Torchwood? But if I'm to list a pairing, I need to have written three fics for that pairing? So if I have three New Who fics and three Torchwood fics, but they're all different pairings (or at most two per pairing), then I'm eligible but can't list a pairing? But can list a character who is in at least three fics? And do different incarnations of the Doctor count for different characters/pairings in this? (I'm just wondering if Jack/Doctor counts if I have two Jack/Nine and one Jack/Ten.)

Hi!

You need to have three fics in total and then you can list all pairings and characters (for gen) that you've written eligible fic for, so that we know what to match you on, so preferably those you have three fics for.

Jack/Doctor or Doctor/Master or Doctor/River etc would all count as "one" pairing in any case, even if different generations were involved. So you're set!:D
